Andy Harris, Man of Integrity?

I'm not sure I'd go that far, but he did put his money where his mouth is. We all remember the flap he caused by asking "where's my government health care?" at his freshman orientation, don't we? The laugh everyone had at his expense? Well, he decided to keep his own private insurance provided through Johns Hopkins after all. He says the coverage was basically the same and the cost was less. Did he silence his critics? Probably not, but at least he can no longer be called a hypocrite on the health care issue. Still, I would have preferred Frank Kratovil.

Not a hypocrite? Then a thief maybe? If he is our full time Congressman, why is he still covered under the JH plan? And if he is under the JH plan, wouldn't that create a conflict of interest whenever he is dealing with health care issues?

The explanation is that he is still an employee on "unpaid leave."

If he is on "unpaid leave" and still taking advantage of JH's group rate--even if he is paying the full shot--there is still a conflict of interest, at least in appearance, and that is all that matters. Just to make myself clear, there is an appearance that he is receiving something of value from JH while he is involved in legislation related to the health care industry.

It wasn't right for fringe people on the losing side of the ledger to smear this guy even, multiple months, before he made this decision, and actually took office. It wasn't right, it was immature, it was a prime example of 'sour grapes' and it lost you guys [even more} voters. I don't support this guy, but the way many of you acted like infants reagrding his not-even-close election by registered voters has given him the kingdom, and the spoils. Now find someone you can say good things about to actually beat him at the polls....that is democracy..deal with it.

Oooooooooooh....so he's not going to take advantage of that "sweet government health care?"

Man, you talk about a bad day for liberals - losing their playblog, getting spanked on gay marriage, and now this!

So far Harris has exceeded my expectations, and I had them pretty high.

P.S. are we still on for polling? Just have to change the name on the question.

@MS "Man, you talk about a bad day for liberals "

Actually. This has been one of the best weeks for liberals in a long time. Two years from now you can look back at this week....

LE..really...look on the warning label-I'm not sure those pills are to be taken with grapefruit juice. I just want to make sure you are Ok, and not seeing little pink Christina Aquilera monsters. If you are interested in more in intensive Da' Nile, perhaps we should focus on Egypt.

All I channelled during my perpetual clueless regarding YOUR BASE the last couple weeks was an old Led Zep song regarding where all you headed-"Over The Hills And Far Away."

I, for one, applaud the civility of the Elite chap. It brings a certain nobility to this bawdy forum. I, too, spent my formative years in lovely Boston. I remember the cold evenings next to a wood burning fire with my mah-tha, my fah-tha and my sister, Honoria, who was unfortunately born without a tongue because we lived down river from the local leather tannery plant, and mercury run-off pond.

My upbringing was pretty standard-luge summer lessions in Rangoon, long, glorious evenings teaching differing species of animals to agree to accept one standard form of intre-species currency, standard stuff, really. When insolent, I was forced to watch "The Waltons" until I learned the horror of what may overtake me if I let forces of wholesome faith, trust and love to taint my turd-sized lump of coal sized heart.

Oh, sure, there are some and mock me stating 'hey, you clueless sod" or 'hey, what are you, on your way to a Dick Meeting??" But I clench my fine wool, wool none of you wretches could offer because you are so poor and disgusting, scarf about my neck, and I head out to the wind that as always whispers "Angus" Angus"...What?? Bloody hell-saying "wanker"?? the wind is calling me a wanke?? Well, that's bloody rude!! Tell the wind to stop that!!! Stop it now...or I shall be forced to say stop again!!!
