And the world gets crazier by the day....

Remember when I shut down this blog the first time and everyone speculated all the contributors turned against me? How prophetic. If you are here after reading Progressive Delmarva, well, that's exactly what has happened. Apparently if you don't support sharia courts in America you are an evil bigot. Let that be a lesson to you majority of the country. Hopefully we can still be friends, as I often come to support the other contributors musical performances and political efforts. But who knows? Yeah, it's tough when you don't 100% agree with someone. It's tough when ideologies clash. It's tough when you believe in God and someone else doesn't. Or when you don't believe in God but someone else does. I'm sure it will be awkward the next time we run into each other. Anyway, that's my little rant. So I guess I am back where it all began as an anti-dote to sbynews, right here on Two Sentz. And that's my final answer. WINNING!!!

But the whole reason for talking is to share ideas and perceptions.

I thought your views on Sharia law were poorly thought out and based on some rank propaganda someone fed you. The core issue there is religious freedom and basic rights. If you hadn't made that post, you'd probably never realize that key point.

Anyway, my efforts were to educate and not to "shit-talk", but I did take some jabs are religion in general. I missed what others had posted, so I don't really know if you overreacted.

As for clashing ideologies, we can either clash or we can balkanize America to the point where we're all just talking past one another.

Is it really that had to talk to atheists?? Atheist generally don't care what other people believe as long as they don't use those beliefs to do crappy things.

LE...I will have to re-read your reply in a second-but WHO SAYS YOU ARE EDUCATING US!!!!!!!!!! Nothing personal, but your general obtuseness and inclination to be a smarmy while still often being wrong on MANY was part of the discord that eventually split your whole PD audience//staff. Hey, man-I'll tell it right to you; "With all due respect" you ain't as smart as you think you are. Maybe you should start listening more than you speak.

No I don't think it is hard to talk to anyone. The most over reactionary things I said were contained in the original post. I understand why you disagreed with me but at the same time I was surpried because of some things you had said in the past. Remember that post with the cartoon of the taliban and tea party guy saying they were basically the same. I didn't like that and I said so and moved on. But something you said struck me. And I quote:

"Religious fanaticism is right there. They're ready to modify any and all of our laws to better cram their religion at unwilling victims."

Is that not how you perceive the sharia law issue?

Also, another anonymous person (probably a contributor) said this:

"The truth is the truth and it hurts sometimes. Deal with it."

That's funny, I guess it wasn't a two way street.

Don't confuse these:

1. What a religion does to try to control/affect people outside of the religion.

2. What people within a religion can do to express/exercise their faith.

Your efforts to make Sharia law illegal are aiming entirely at #2. My comment that you quoted was aimed entirely at #1.

To the extent that Muslims try to engage in #1, they should be stopped. Agreed. The reason I have more wrath against Christianity than I do against Muslims, is that Christians have been FAR FAR more successful at #1 in America... and to America's detriment and shame.

LE,
It is in your right to be an atheist. But your statement about religions needing more "victims" really offended me. Excepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior has nothing to do with any of the religious talk on PD over the last week or two. I was an agnostic until two years ago. One only needs to be shown proof.

Well said ATGR, I'll save you the ridicule from LE and let you know it is 'accepting.' It offends me every time I hear it.

TS,

Have you a need for a once a week music contributor? It would give me another "purpose" and one can never have too many "purposes".
If so, you know where to find me.
