What is wrong with the system that allows this man to still have a job? After all the crap he has put the City, the Council, the Mayor, and the citizens through, how can he still be on the force? He may have a had a good run in his 40 years but it is time to put this horse out to pasture. Who's with me? This whole situation feels like a microcosm of the problems with Salisbury. Where are the men of action in Salisbury? Why is everyone so afraid of taking a stand and making a real difference? It's time for people to unite. It's time for protests in front of City Hall. Maybe then someone with power will take action and remove this prima donna asswipe from his post.
HERE is further evidence of why he is an idiot.

one thing that I always question is that whenever there is a problem, it seems that the only solution brought up is to get rid of someone. We see this with Obama where over and over I see "The honorable thing to do is that he must step down so America can survive" and I see the same rhetoric here with the chief.
he probably is doing a bad job. but the “must step down” doesn’t seem very productive. having him step down as part of an overall plan might get more support since that might seem to be less bitching and more problem solving.
If this man were running a business, the stockholders would have replaced him by now. I see no difference.
I nominate Ernie Leatherbury.
I still dont see any solutions here except "having him step down."
a leader of an organization is very important. but there are many things that contribute to a problem.
replacing him is one piece of the overal solution. I dont know the complete solution (not knowing law enforcement). but there has to be one out there. starting to fire people without a plan doesnt seem like a good idea.
just cutting the head off the snake it keeps slithering around for awhile lost and blind.
We need more boots on the ground, more presence on the streets for starters.
Also, the buck has to stop somewhere and that is usually at the top. His leadership is refelcted in the job the force is doing and the criminals they are catching. I say he had a good run but is letting the situation slip. Fire him, promote the second in command as interim chief, and start a nationwide search for someone with a proven record as a crime fighter.
Whatever hapend to a cop WALKING a beat? Everyone knew him and he knew everyone on his beat. A stern word from him could make you behave! maybe some more foot soldiers on the street would work.
I think we need to hire a "Buford Pusser" type to clean this town up. A fair honest man that goes after the real bad guys.
Why have a nationwide search that cost the tax payer a ton of money. Hire from within or local someone who knows and understands the situation first hand.
Biazzio, it's the law. But at the end of the day we can still go with our guy...hopefully. I nominate Lt. Leatherbury.
Sentz you're right. More boots on the street. You just got seven from the academy class that just graduated and there are nine more in the next academy class. Now you need to assign commanders to districts based on crime stats and hold them accountable for developing a strategy to reign in crime, monitoring the progress of their strategy and hold them accountable for making it work! Initially there should be absolute zero tolerance and the enforcement of laws that relate to quality of life issues is paramount. Any strategy must be a holistic approach. A summit of representatives from the district and circuit courts, states attorney's office, juvenile services, code enforcement, local churches, and other charitable organizations sponsored by the various law enforcement agencies must be held to coordinate efforts to curtail crime at every level in order to present a unified front against the criminals. Drug dealers and serious offenders should recieve the harshest penalties possible - adults AND juveniles. Homeless families comprised of people who have never committed crimes should be given viable alternatives to becoming criminals.
Neighborhood watches need to be initiated and/or revitalized across the city. This is necessary when proceeding on the understanding that every city is comprised of many different communities, each having it's own specific needs. Neighborhood watches is one of the most effective tools in determining what these needs are as well as providing a vehicle to educate the public about the law enforcement system and how it really works. This goes a long way toward building trust necessary to making law enforcement an integral part of every community. Brother, there's so much more to say.....we can chew the fat in person some day soon.
Sentz: When are you going to bring this site to the front? I mean your site was one where you could go and argue, debate and find cool places in the world, get a good restaurant recommendation, local music, and even a movie review. Come on man get it rolling again.
I, The Amazing Karnak, do hereby make the following prediction:
Having been exposed by Two Sentz as surfing blogs on company (i.e. taxpayer) time, and having had his next move handily predicted by I, The Amazing Karnak, Paul T. Gudelski shall move onward to other local blogs to make personal insults against not only Two Sentz (and possibly his family), but also CC, CD, BL, MP, and/or anyone associated with either of the two blogs (and possibly their families).
As I have predicted, so shall it be.
